The Butterfly House
The purpose of the Butterfly House is to foster a better understanding and increased awareness of our natural world. The Butterfly House aspires to:
- Excellence in exhibitry.
- By providing the best possible habitat and environment for the animals and plants under our care.
- Ensuring a fun experience for all guests.
- Ensuring a safe experience for guests.
Education
- Present learning experiences for all guests in addition to formal classroom sessions.
- Being available and receptive to the needs of students, teachers and guests, with regards to information they seek.
- Offering our message and information to approximately 200,000 guests and 60,000 students annually.
Conservation
- Responsible habitat management within our own boundaries and promoting the same beyond those boundaries, through direct involvement or educational offerings.
- Classes and lectures are available to the public to help reach this goal.
- Participating hands-on with existing conservation efforts and those undertaken from within.
- Seeking collaborative efforts whenever possible to make a stronger impact.
