The Butterfly House

The purpose of the Butterfly House is to foster a better understanding and increased awareness of our natural world. The Butterfly House aspires to:

  • Excellence in exhibitry.
  • By providing the best possible habitat and environment for the animals and plants under our care.
  • Ensuring a fun experience for all guests.
  • Ensuring a safe experience for guests.

Education

  • Present learning experiences for all guests in addition to formal classroom sessions.
  • Being available and receptive to the needs of students, teachers and guests, with regards to information they seek.
  • Offering our message and information to approximately 200,000 guests and 60,000 students annually.

Conservation

  • Responsible habitat management within our own boundaries and promoting the same beyond those boundaries, through direct involvement or educational offerings.
  • Classes and lectures are available to the public to help reach this goal.
  • Participating hands-on with existing conservation efforts and those undertaken from within.
  • Seeking collaborative efforts whenever possible to make a stronger impact.
